Abstract

*Mountains are the highest landforms on Earth, with extreme altitudes and climatic conditions not suitable for life to thrive, and yet, they are the wonders of our world. Ranging from more than 8000 meters in elevation to as less as 100 meters, mountains play a HUGE part in maintaining the Earth’s climatic conditions, while also holding cultural significance in several places around the world. There are more than 1500 charted mountains on the surface of the Earth. While each one of them are significant in their own rights, the highest among them do deserve to get a special recognition. Thus, this project — Crowns of the Continents: charting the 3 highest mountains on each of the 7 continents of Earth.
